Bygone Limit Stops

Child Safety

Not one stop but a pair of limit stops on the upper sash to prevent windows opening beyond 100mm (4" in old money!).

Why two, well if these fittings are supplied on one side only, when the sashes are opened with force they start to rack, glass packers become loose, and the sash no longer remains square, resulting in gaps, drafts and difficult to operate locking devices.

As a pair this never happens.

Some types of limit stops are very fiddly, difficult to use, small keys get lost, some are so weak they soon fracture. No keys needed on these, they either lock open or closed, and made from a solid cast material, will last forever...well for years anyway!
