It’s good practice to glaze windows with toughened glass, (its 5 times stronger than standard annealed glass), its considered safe as it shatters into small cubes when broken, however if security is absolutely paramount then laminated glass (6.3mm min) should be considered as this has a protective skin which holds the glass in place even once its broken.
