Don't believe everything you read, this true story is unbelievable but TRUE

Mr and Mrs D were building a new home for themselves.

They wanted the very best building materials they could afford, as this was to be their dream home for years to come.

Mrs D was so excited awaiting delivery of her new windows, but totally devastated when they eventually arrived. Dejected, unhappy and convinced there had to be some mistake she made repeated calls to the number of the company concerned.

Repeatedly reassured her that they were the ones she ordered, but still she had nagging doubts, something just wasn't right.

She felt let down; the windows had been poorly made, badly installed and very disappointed with the finished quality. In desperation she decided to ring me, the MD of Bygone.

Imagine the surprise that both she and I felt, finding that she had been mislead...    they were definitely NOT bygone windows. A company had copied our adverts, changed the phone number, and lied to get business!

Little wonder this industry has a bad reputation!!!!

It seems that upon finding a double page advert in their local paper all about Bygone, Mr & Mrs D decided to check out the window by visiting the company's showroom.

Assurances from their representative, their sales manager, even their MD, all repeatedly declared that their samples were definitely Bygone...     but they were lying!

Had it not been for a last chance call, neither Mrs D nor we, would be any the wiser.

Once we knew about this we wanted Mrs D to have the product she had dreamed of.

Working together, we assisted Mrs D's legal claim, which forced this rogue company into removing the offending windows, repay Mrs D every penny, and withdraw their advertisement, along with suitable public apologies of course.

We put the compensation from the offending company towards her costs, made her the windows she thought she had bought, and oversaw a fully trained local installer to ensure her new windows worked perfectly.

As for the rogue company, they still install cheap sash windows so do beware, however they won't be Bygone quality, we do not tolerate this type of installation company.

As a direct result of this story, Bygone windows now have an exclusive range of fittings, which are only on Bygone windows, If they don't have our badge they are not Bygone windows.

Moral of the story...    check out who you are dealing with, don't be afraid not to accept their word for it, all reputable companies will offer references,
