A polite and courteous service provided by skilled individuals
When you place an order for The Bygone Collection, you can expect a level of workmanship beyond simply "getting the job done". You are rightly proud of your home and should expect to be equally as proud of your new windows, providing they're fitted correctly.
So what does it take to install a sash window properly?
There is lots to consider and many inexperienced companies will cut corners. However, Bygone Premier Installation Partners believe in doing things correctly and they'll discuss every aspect with you, including the finer details:
- Retaining existing architraves, or replacing them with PVC-U, hardwood or softwood,
- Retaining or reinstating your louvered or solid shutters
- Use of jamb liners, Bygone Fixing lugs and insulation
- Fitting the frame traditionally, behind check reveals, reducing the amount of frame on view
- Any staining, varnish or painted finishes that you might require
- White Foil, Cream Foil, RAL or Farrow and Ball colour spray options
- Cement fillets to avoid mastic pointing.
Only once you’re happy with your choice and have confirmed your order in writing will they start the installation process and protecting your property takes top priority. Our installers make sure they cover every surface with dust sheets or plastic sheeting, to keep contents clean.
They won’t rush the work; a team of experienced fitters will generally only replace two sash windows a day, (depending on the removal required) to ensure that every window is completed on the day it is started, rather than removing every window at the same time and leaving windows unfinished overnight.
Doing the job properly involves taking out the whole sash box, rather than simply fitting inserts into the existing framework. Rest assured that your local installation company is working to the highest standards and will complete each job efficiently and with finesse.
Keeping our promises
You’ll find our guarantees go beyond that of the average manufacturer. Usually, a "double glazing" company will offer you a guarantee, but should they become insolvent or go into liquidation, your protection ends there.
With Bygone it's different, you’ll get both an installers and a manufacturer's guarantee for your sash windows and should you be unhappy with any aspect of the fitting, we will look at the issues and find a suitable solution. As the current homeowner, you'll be pleased to learn that we can extend the manufacturers guarantee to future owners for a small fee if required.
Bygone installers will typically offer you more choice than any alternative companies.
There are two standard types of Timber sash windows; a traditional Weights and Pulleys option, or a Spiral Spring balanced one, along with three "PVC-U wood grain foil alternatives; Bygone Symphony, Bygone Harmony and Bygone Melody, each with an acrylic surface which is "indistinguishable from wood even at close quarters", in any colour you wish.
If a customer is working to any budgetary constraints, Bygone installers can offer our Authentic Collection as an alternative. These are simply a more standard, contemporary PVC-U sash window, with standard hardware, Ultra-lift balances and without some of the more exclusive features found on Bygone marked products.
Expect a professional approach from diligent, friendly workmen who respect your home and its contents. They’ll take care of your carpets and possessions and use clean vehicles.
Expect to be given a written proposal for consideration and plenty of time to think over your decision.
They will keep you informed about deliveries and installation dates, but if something unforeseen delays the project, our installers will contact you immediately to make alternative arrangements.
We are sure you will be so happy with your decision that you’ll want to recommend your premier partner and Bygone sash windows to friends and neighbours alike.Back to top
