A brief background to the company
Established in 1963, Elwyns can confidently claim to be one of the Uk’s oldest glazing companies still trading today. Originally it opened by Mr George Blanks as a hardware store selling glass and timber alongside many other products for the home. A natural progression took the business into the earliest forms of double glazing, which were often secondary internal glazing panels fitted to the existing windows. As the 70’s approached, new industry saw a rise in the manufacture of aluminium frames, and double glazing was being introduced with sealed glass units. Elwyns followed this trend with its own manufacturing workshops producing timber frames with aluminium, and later PVCu.
Sash windows have always been a large part of Elwyns portfolio due to the close proximity of so many Georgian and Victorian homes in South London and the surrounding areas. The Bygone sash window provides the latest innovations in technology with the traditional aesthetics, and with the assistance of one of Elwyns design consultants you are sure to gain a most professional of services.
All staff are fully trained and regularly assessed to ensure the highest of standards are maintained.
Elwyns is an award winning company, having secured runner up for Installation company of the Year in the National Industry Awards for 2012 and 2013, along with runner up for best Business in the South London Business Awards 2014 and then Winner of Best SME for the London Borough of Sutton 2015, it is clear to see that the company remains in the driving seat after 54 years in business.
